Jesus Wrote My Sitcom

Fellow OPRF grad Kathy Griffin (who is famous for reasons unclear) said something very funny, I guess, and so it seems that the top Enemy of The Booze Cabinet, The Catholic League, has responded swiftly! Ms. Griffin won an award for something or other (what is she on?) and in her acceptance speech she poked fun of all the goofs who thank Jesus when they win, because as we all know, he had nothing to do with your television programs, good or bad (we all know that, right? Right?).

“Suck it, Jesus, this award is my God now,” she said, and that’s kind of funny; I mean, if you’re a celebrity and you win an award, then it really is like a god. What else is there? Anyway, Bill Donohue, head of The Catholic League responded with an even funnier statement:

“The self-described ‘complete militant atheist’ needs to make a swift and unequivocal apology to Christians. If she does, she will get this issue behind her. If she does not, she will be remembered as a foul-mouthed bigot for the rest of her life.â€?

Of course, The Booze Cabinet sticks by the OPRF alumni in this case and Mr. Donahue can go to hell!
